All emotions and feelings are a source of energy. We can look at a painting in a Gallery or wherever you see it , and in our mind comes an episode of our life , may be a pleasant one, enjoyable or less, fear or sadness. Often the emotion plays in artmaking a major role.
Usually an artist express his feelings in his paintings. In fact , art is based on feelings ans emotions. :)
We are emotional beings and is hard to control our emotions. Not the emotions are the problem but the crowd of overwhelming emotions. Anything overwhelming is very unstable. It comes like a wind and passes by, leaving you behind, empty, shattered, in sadness and in sorrow.
Emotion is very fragile, very changing. One moment it seems that is all. Another moment you are simply empty.
I have noticed that I cannot paint if I'm feeling sad or too happy :)... I can do it , but I know that I'll not like the result, that painting will not inspire something , it will be empty. So I prefer to stay away of my canvas in that days. IS MY CHOICE!
I don't care about how many paintings I have to paint in a month. It's NOT quantity that matters.
Often the people ask : "How many hours were taking on this painting? "
My answer? " I don't know" :D
I really don't know , because I have never count the hours. I dont't see any reason to do it.
I enjoy what i'm doing , and I don't have time to count. The time is not important.
Coming back to emotions . :)
I love to paint with LOVE, and the Love is never overwhelming. Love is a tremendous insight, clarity, sensitivity, awareness. Love as an expression of my being.
You cand draw and paint when you are angry , sad , nervous. Do it for yourself as a meditative state of yourself. Let on that paper your anger. Is a good therapy ;) , but then burn it , is not longer helpful, is not even important what you have drawn. Let it go!
I like so much what Gurdjieff said about Art:
Art out of madness, art out of neurosis, art out of pathology, is not real art. Gurdjieff used to divide art into two kinds. He used to call this kind of art subjective, and another kind - the Taj Mahal, or Khajuraho - objective, because when you have painted, your work is finished but the painting will live.
A pattern can be created so that if you look at it, it gives silence. A pattern can be created so that if you look at it, it makes you tense. The objective art, Gurdjieff says, is the art which leads people towards silence, towards blissfulness, towards inner harmony, towards grace. And there is art that leads people towards pathology, neurosis, sadness, fear.
I want to bring in this world harmony , silence, blessings, peace, inspiration , serendipity. That is my mission :)
Love and Peace ,
I am always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it.
